Conditional and Sample-Based Call Recording via IVR
Business Problem
Due to strict European legislation (such as §201 StGB in Germany and CNIL guidelines in France), systematically recording phone calls without specific consent or on a permanent basis is not permitted. Companies face legal risks when they cannot enforce active 'two-party consent' via the IVR menu or when they cannot set up sample-based recording to meet privacy requirements.
Desired Outcome
There is a need for advanced control over call recording at the phone number level. Firstly, the recording function should be conditionally activated based on IVR input (e.g., press 1 to consent, press 9 to decline). Secondly, a 'randomizer' functionality is desired that only records a configurable percentage (e.g., 10-20%) of calls, to comply with French regulations against systematic monitoring.
